The City of Palmetto Fire Department is responsible for providing effective and efficient delivery of fire, medical, rescue and life safety services to safeguard the lives and property of citizens and visitors to the City of Palmetto.

The Palmetto Fire Department also works to improve the quality of life for city residents by providing fire inspection, public education and code enforcement services.

Fifteen full time fire-rescue personnel operate two Paramedic Engines from a centrally located fire station on Menefee Street in downtown Palmetto.  All personnel are certified at the EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic level.  Our current ISO Classification is 1/1X.

Offices of the Fire Chief, and Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshal are located in Fire Headquarters at 595 Main Street.
